"Our vision is to restore a unique and rewarding golf
atmosphere that captures the historic New England setting at The University Club of
Connecticut. Our classic signature honors the timeless tradition of golf and embodies an
unparalleled experience for golf enthusiasts of all levels." ~ Donny Marshall, UConn
Alum
The University Club formerly the Willimantic Country Club, nestled
away in the Northeast corner of Connecticut, was established in 1922 as a nine hole golf
course. Over the years the original nine holes have been incorporated into what is now a
championship 18-hole golf course with the final 6 holes being completed in the early
1960s. As in tradition with courses established in this time, the greens are
slightly smaller with modest un-dulations and good speed. Fifteen holes are bunkered,
along with three sets of tees to allow golfers of all skill levels a fair challenge. The
narrow fairways are lined with beautiful oak trees and three natural spring ponds. |
